ABOUT KIT CARSON MOUNTAIN MEN

The Kit Carson Mountain Men are a small Southeast Colorado club, and was founded and established in 1980. We are also a member of The Southeastern Colorado Council of Buckskinners.

We hold our annual rendezvous usually on the third weekend of May.
*** You are not required to be a member to attend our rendezvous. ***

KCMM incorporates shooting events and activities for both kids and adults. All the shoots will follow NMLRA range rules and the KCMM posted range rules. Primitive patched round ball ONLY, primitive dress and fixed iron sights strongly encouraged. Please ask if you are interested in Traditional Black Powder Muzzle Loaders and do not have equipment. We will be more than happy to help newcomers to the sport. If you need powder let us know as early as possible. We usually have some extra powder available to purchase from the club.

On the final night of the rendezvous we have a BBQ & Potluck dinner. For the BBQ & Potluck dinner we ask that you bring a sizeable side dish and/or dessert.

A MESSAGE FROM LONG TIME MEMBER & ORGANIZER: VIOLET SNEYD

Many of you may not know, but I want to share info about our club. Our club has held rendezvous in the same place for 43 years since we became a club. We are a small club on the eastern plains of Colorado. We have loyal and amazing members who are like family. We highly encourage families to participate in this rendezvous. We have some three and four generations of family members that come to rendezvous. For my family it is now in three generations. We use our rendezvous to teach about the fur trade and to encourage youth to participate in something fun and educational. We have specific events for kids every year that cost a good amount. We have a large council fire on Saturday which we provide all the meat for. Please come and experience this event and donate to the club. We appreciate your support and if your new to rendezvous, or muzzle loading, your in the right spot, because we live to share our heritage and knowledge.
Thank you, Violet
